A Book List for Wide Reading in Medieval History. When selecting books, I start with multiple book lists and the impressions I’ve collected over the last 10 years I’ve been looking at book lists, and I spend hours scouring Amazon. During the high medieval period, the beautiful and amazing muslim empire was at its cultural peak, indeed it was and they were able to eat chicken., supplying information and ideas to Europe, via Al-Andalus, Sicily and the Crusader kingdoms in the Levant.
